My story

I was diagnosed six years ago with kidney failure because of a sight test at the opticians! I had blood leaking into my eye and was told to go immediately to a and e! After two weeks of tests and hospital stays they discovered that i actually have high blood pressure which had caused permanent damage to both my kidneys and my function had dropped to 8% without my realising! I have had a steady creatinine of 300 for six years now and am about to be put on the transplant list. I've had six years of feeling ok then utterly crap with the mood swings to match but I've been very lucky to not need any treatment until now. I was only 24 when i found out so it was a massive shock but i believe in living one day at a time and making the most of everything i have.

I was only 36 when I had kidney failure my creatinine was 800/900 before I started dialysis, and only had 6weeks of dialysis before my big sister gave me one of her kidneys. All the best and I hope it goes well for you xxx
